On August 25, the "Voice of Think Tanks" event series by ZGC Global High-level Think Tank Alliance and the special lecture in Brazil on "Belt and Road" International Science and Technology Cooperation was held successfully in Zhongguancun Science and Technology Service Building. The lecture was co-sponsored by the ZGC Global High-level Think Tank Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the "Think Tank Alliance"), the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as the "BJAST or the Academy "), the Beijing Representative Office of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency and the BRICS Technology Transfer Center. It was organized by the International Technology Transfer Collaboration Network (ITTN), the Center for International and Regional Cooperation of the BJAST, the "Belt and Road" International Science and Technology Cooperation Training Center and ZGC Services. Li Junkai, Director of the Center for International and Regional Cooperation of the BJAST and Secretary-general of the Think Tank Alliance, presided over the lecture.

The event invited four influential experts and scholars in the field of China-Brazil and China-Latin America international exchange and cooperation on science and technology to give special lectures. The following experts and scholars are included: Yuan Jinyun, an academician of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, and tenured professor in the Mathematics Department of the Federal University of Paraná (Universidade Federal do Paraná or UFPR), Brazil, and distinguished professor of the School of Computer Science and Technology of Dongguan University of Technology; Liu Yuanwen, the former leader in charge of Latin American affairs in the International Cooperation Department of Ministry of Science and Technology of China and former science and technology counselor of embassies abroad; Li Ning, America and Oceania Division of the Center for International Science and Technology Exchange; and Zhang Zhang, Vice Chairman of the Network for International Cooperation on Technology Commercialization(NICTC) and Secretary-General of the International Technology Transfer Network (ITTN). The experts shared wisdom and exchanged experience on topics such as the "Background and Opportunities of China-Brazil and China-Latin America Innovation Cooperation of Science and Technology, "Introduction to the Mechanism of China-Brazil Science, Technology and People-to-People Exchanges", and "Cooperation Practice of Cross-border Innovation Union: ITTN and BRICS Technology Transfer Center".

The event was mainly open to more than twenty guests from Brazil's political, industrial, academic and research fields, including the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, the University of São Paulo and the Brazilian AI technology Companies, as well as more than ten representatives of the council members of the Think Tank Alliance. The lecture was detailed in content and had a harmonious atmosphere of exchange and interaction, which built an exchange platform and contributed wisdom to further promote the win-win cooperation in science and technology between the two countries.

Li Junkai pointed out at the event that 2023 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the strategic partnership between China and Pakistan, and 2024 will usher in the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. China and Brazil are both large developing countries and important emerging markets, and the overall, strategic and global influence of China-Brazil relations has become increasingly prominent over the years. The continuous deepening of China-Brazil cooperation in science and technology in various fields has brought more opportunities and driving force for innovation to the sustainable development of both countries’ economies. In the future, we will continue to do deep dives into branding campaigns, adhere to the concept of “openness, sharing and win-win cooperation”, and discuss cooperation and seek common development with more Brazilian science and technology institutions and think tanks.
